Company History

1st August 2007

The Sector Skills Service enter into an agreement with VT Careers Management Southern, part of VT Group plc, to provide their Nextstep service as a part of the Sector Skills Service for the next twelve months.

19th June 2007

Sector Skills Service achieves accreditation for the MATRIX national quality standard for information advice and guidance services.

11th April 2007

The Sector Skills Service enters into a partnership with right4staff Group to refer people living in Hampshire for a Sector Skills Service IAG session.

21st March 2007

Sector Skills Service offer the Nextstep Delivery Team the opportunity, during their IAG sessions, to refer people online for Work Experience Placements.

6th February 2007

The Funded IAG Scheme is launched www.sectorskillsservice.com/iag

4th January 2007

Sector Skills Service enter into an agreement to work with Connexions offices.

12th December 2006

After attending the JCP Phase 2 Provider event it is clear that the Sector Skills Service is ideally placed to be a provider, on a sub-contractor basis, for the Jobcentre Plus Provider led Pathways to Work project. Therefore, key strategic partnership negotiations will be on-going throughout 2007.

11th May 2006

An agreement is entered into with VT Careers Management Southern to provide their Nextstep service as a part of the Sector Skills Service. Nextstep is VT's National IAG service, funded by the Learning Skills Council. This agreement means the Sector Skills Service is part funded by Nextstep with funding from Next Step being used to provide a discretionary Expenses Fund for clients.

1st May 2006

The JCP Advisers within Hampshire start referring their customers, on a daily basis, to the Sector Skills Service for IAG interviews.

21st April 2006

The Sector Skills Service is recognised by Jobcentre Plus in Hampshire & IOW when they enter into a service level agreement with the Sector Skills Service.

10th April 2006

The Sector Skills Service starts to offer work experience opportunities, on a selection basis, as part of the service.

4th January 2006

The demand for IAG interviews and the continual development of the IAG interview service led to branding the IAG service the Sector Skills Service.

15th November 2004

Parent company starts using information, advice & guidance interviews as a cornerstone for their contracts with Sector Skills Hubs. Working within the Visual Communications Sector, till July 2005, and the E-Skills Sector, till July 2006, meant building relationships with industry partners and Sector Skills Councils.
