The Government commissioned Lord Leitch to undertake an independent review of the UK's long term skills needs. The final report of the Leitch Review of Skills was published on 5th December 2006. The Review states that the UK must urgently raise achievements at all levels of skills and recommends that it commit to becoming a world leader in skills by 2020. Responsibility for achieving ambitions must be shared between Government, employers and individuals. FUNDED IAG SCHEMEOne of the main priorities to improving skills and moving people into employment is to ensure people receive good information, advice and guidance (IAG). It is a fact that companies, working to find suitable jobs for people, cannot and do not find employment for the majority of the people who contact them. Many of these people do not have the suitable qualifications and require training before they can be considered for potential job opportunities. To encourage IAG's the Funded IAG Scheme will pay an Administration
fee of £10.00 for referrals via the online referral form and it
will take approximately 2 minutes to refer someone at www.sectorskillsservice.com/iag
